Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the program the participants will;

  • Define whether the task is a project and requires project management approaches applied to it
  • Explore the benefits of adopting a Project Management (PM) approach to a piece of work
  • Explain key jargon, tools and problems associated with PM activity
  • List the roles associated within the project environment
  • Match key responsibilities for each role type within a PM environment
  • Create a generic Lifecycle from a given work based project and list benefits of this structured lifecycle
  • Chart all activities required for a successful project outcome – link relevance to APM, PMI and PRINCE2
  • Ensure key milestones and check points are included in any lifecycle plan
  • Ensure a project has a scope definition and success criteria to prevent “Scope Creep”
  • Define and set up KPI’s and benefits that can be measured and monitored throughout project lifecycle
  • Write a business case for the project
